Russia boosts power consumption 1.3% to 375.1 bln kWh in Jan-Apr

MOSCOW, May 3 (PRIME) -- Russia increased general power consumption by 1.3% on the year to 375.1 billion kilowatt-hour (kWh) in January-April, System Operator of the Unified Energy Systems company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Power consumption of the Unified Energy Systems of Russia rose by 2.1% on the year to 367.9 billion kWh. General Russia’s power consumption adjusted for February 29 increased by 2.1% and consumption of the Unified Energy Systems of Russia grew by 3%, respectively.

Russia’s general power output went up by 1% to 379.4 billion kWh in the period and output of the Unified Energy Systems of Russia increased by 1.5% to 372.1 billion kWh. Power output adjusted for February 29 rose by 1.9% generally in Russia and by 2.4% in the Unified Energy Systems of Russia.

In April, Russia’s general power consumption grew by 3.4% to 85.8 billion kWh, while consumption in the Unified Energy Systems of Russia rose by 4.3% to 84.1 billion kWh. Power production increased by 3.4% to 86.7 billion kWh and by 3.9% to 85 billion kWh, respectively.
